Orochimaru is one of the main characters of the Naruto franchise. He is one of the three legendary Sannin of Konoha who trained under the leadership of Hiruzen Sarutobi the Third Hokage, alongside his companions, Jiraiya and Tsunade. He started as the main antagonist in the first part of Naruto, then later as the main antagonist in the second part of Naruto Shippuden
Since the Second Ninja War, Orochimaru has been fascinated by the idea of learning all ninja techniques , including forbidden jutsu. In order to achieve this goal, he began conducting illegal research which involved performing experiments on the corpses of deceased people, in order to cheat death. 💀 When his secrets were discovered, Orochimaru abandoned Konoha and was labeled a criminal and a traitor.
Orochimaru would eventually return to Konoha and plot revenge against the village.🍃 Since then, his presence has continued to influence the events that led to the Fourth Shinobi World War . By the end of Part 2, Orochimaru saw how misguided his goals were and renounced his previous villainous ambitions.
Orochimaru's goal
If Orochimaru does his various experiments on humans it is to learn all the jutsus. During the duel between him and the Third Hokage Hiruzen, we saw numerous flashbacks showing the death of his parents young. Jiraiya believes that Orochimaru was deeply affected by this tragic death, so much so that he believes he can avenge their deaths through these experiences. He also tries to understand how much a human can be modified and endure pain in order to improve their own body.
Kind Orochimaru
Orochimaru deeply loving Tsunade and her brother, he found Nawaki's enthusiasm endearing and was deeply disturbed when he saw him killed. The death of the latter and of Tsunade's lover probably touched him a lot and destroyed him internally. He showed regret when recalling Nawaki's mutilated body, although in the first part he seemed more bitter than actually sad, chastising Tsunade for not being there to heal him, and retrieved the necklace that Tsunade had given to Nawaki and returned it to him. 💎 When he witnessed the death of Dan, Tsunade's lover, and the pain it caused him, Orochimaru was visibly upset to the point of tears. Even in the worst case scenario, Orochimaru showed some degree of affection for them, remarking that he would have sincerely resurrected them for Tsunade if she had healed his hands and giving Tsunade the option to let him kill Naruto.
It's sad to see how fragile human life is and don't like how it affects people still alive. This is what gradually tore apart his initial personality, as he was known to have been initially loyal to Konoha , fearlessly engaging in wars for his village and although he had already started doing research, his experiments did not include human life and were conducted for the benefit of the Hidden Leaf Village. Additionally, he seemed to have value over life, as shown by how he was genuinely horrified and worried when Itachi boldly attempted a difficult and dangerous training session and was about to stop him .
The ultimate being
Once his goal is achieved, Orochimaru hopes to be worthy and blameless of the title of "ultimate being" . Because the lifespan of a human does not allow for learning all the techniques, Orochimaru also experiments on others, in order to achieve immortality. By living through the eras, Orochimaru never needs to worry about death and therefore any knowledge he gains will never be lost. 📖
Above all, Orochimaru only cares about himself. He becomes bored when there is no conflict or violence in the world, and immediately frightens others when they first encounter him. Although he has many ninja disciples ready to do anything to help him, Orochimaru treats them like simple pawns.♟ A master manipulator, he does not hesitate to sacrifice them, sending them towards certain death for his profit, and never only finds remorse in their loss if they are unable to perform a task properly. To convince these followers of their disposable status, Orochimaru approaches them by promising to fulfill their dreams, such as obtaining power, revenge, or a purpose for their lives. He applies a cursed seal to his strongest subordinates in order to slowly destroy their bodies and minds, making them less and less resistant to Orochimaru's influence.
Orochimaru and his quest for a vessel
While he felt much desire towards the prodigy Sasuke Uchiha, Orochimaru was contemptuous and disdainful towards Naruto Uzumaki, considering him a lost cause with no talent. However, when Naruto injured his disciple Kabuto Yakushi with his Rasengan 🌌, Orochimaru saw him as a threat to his plans and the future, so he tried to kill him.
Orochimaru trained Sasuke to become stronger and be able to avenge his family from his brother Itachi. But Orochimaru didn't help Sasuke out of pure kindness, in reality he wanted to take over Sasuke's body and Dojutsu: the sharingan. With this pupil in his possession, he would have saved a lot of time in his quest to learn jutsus. He therefore helped Sasuke in the hope of making him his new vassal and subsequently, his vessel.
Orochimaru's Rebirth
However, following his revival by Sasuke, Orochimaru lost interest in his previous goals and recognized that copying someone else was a mistake after his former assistant Kabuto tried to copy him completely. 🐍 He chose to observe Sasuke's participation in the Fourth Shinobi War, and following his new change, Orochimaru made sure to heal Tsunade and the other Kage, and later helped heal Sasuke, after he was seriously injured by Madara Uchiha.
Although he does not seem to regret many of his actions yet, he seems to feel some remorse for what he did towards those he treated, showing sadness over the death of his friend d Jiraiya's childhood and also looking solemn when Naruto showed him his memories of Jiraiya, which inspired him to join the Shinobi Alliance . Orochimaru eventually gained some respect for Naruto, as he learned how far he had come under Jiraiya's apprenticeship and saw his indomitable will. He seemed to sincerely care about Sasuke, showing that with his previous belief that Sasuke was just his pawn, he had unconsciously come to love his apprentice, as he looked solemn when Sasuke was close to the died and seemed almost proud of Sasuke's evolution. 💪🏻 After the war, he is on good terms with Konoha and also sent his son Mitsuki there, although they still keep him under observation due to his past misdeeds.
The power of Orochimaru
As a Sannin and former member of Akatsuki, Orochimaru is an extraordinarily powerful and skilled ninja. Considered to have Kage-level abilities, Orochimaru is considered to have enough jutsu to destroy an entire Ninja city and Hiruzen admits that with his prowess deteriorated by old age, even he will not be able to stop him. Although Hiruzen was ultimately able to triumph, sealing Orochimaru's arms preventing him from performing jutsu and otherwise overpowering him in combat, and even attacking him and the resurrected Hokages, it was only because that Hiruzen performed a suicidal jutsu and Konoha's forces were left crippled by Orochimaru. Even heavily weakened, he remained considerably powerful, able to take on Jiraiya while he too was disabled and fight Tsunade, although with Jiraiya he only defeated him by surprise and Tsunade ultimately defeated him . Although he is mostly recovered, he can face Naruto in his Fourth-Tails form. 🦊Sasuke, despite his improved power, admits that if Orochimaru had been at full power, he would have posed a difficult challenge and perhaps even won when they fought.
Taijutsu
Although he rarely uses Taijutsu, he has proven to be very proficient in hand-to-hand combat, able to easily confront and eventually beat Sasuke despite his Sharingan. Overall, he prefers to wield his Kusanagi sword, with which he was able to fight Hiruzen while wielding his Adamantine Staff, but was inevitably beaten.
Ninjutsu
Through his tireless pursuit of all the techniques in the world, Orochimaru acquired unprecedented knowledge and mastery of ninjutsu; only his former mentors, Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha, could rival or even surpass him on the field. Having a large catalog of jutsu, ranging from very simple but dangerous offensive techniques when performed by him, to more complex and higher level techniques, Orochimaru's abilities ranged from the use of medical Ninjutsu to the creation of chakra scalpels, through the invocation: Rashōmon and Invocation: Triple Rashōmon , in which he summons large doors in the shape of demons 👹 capable of resisting powerful attacks and the technique of concealment in the surface, which allows him Allows you to quickly merge with a surface to avoid damage.

Orochimaru's tongue and body
Orochimaru's characteristic trait is his affinity with snakes. This affinity is reflected in his appearance and gives him the power to extend his limbs like a moving snake. Its characteristic tongue frightens more than one shinobi and can extend like a snake. This particularity gives him access to a wide range of abilities, including the wise mode of snakes . His powerful techniques are called "power of the white snake". Thanks to the summoning contract located on his arm, Orochimaru can summon giant snakes that can help him move or fight. His tattoo allows him to easily summon snakes around him, without even having to touch the ground. If he is in difficulty, Orochimaru has the ability to change into a giant snake. This transformation is not as massive as Manda but it is nonetheless very powerful.
His signature snake is Manda , a powerful snake known to be the largest in the world and a powerful strike force. Thanks to one of his techniques, Orochimaru can make snakes come out of his sleeves like a magician. Its venomous snakes can attack large numbers of ninjas using their sharp fangs. Orochimatu also has a variation of this technique, in which the summoned snakes are much more numerous and larger. He is also capable of summoning the Kusanagi Sword and it is capable of cutting through almost any material and he is also capable of causing many Kusanagi type blades to come out of the mouths of the snakes he summons or to his own mouth.
Orochimaru's ultimate offensive technique was Yamata, an ability that allowed him to transform into a massive eight-headed snake, transforming him from a snake to a dragon god🐉, with him appearing in the head's mouth of primary snake. Orochimaru's Dragon God form possessed the full power of reincarnation and its heads could unite to create its own variant that used an attack similar to the Demon Orb, an extremely powerful beam that could pierce the defenses of 'an armored Susanoo.
Orochimaru's immortality
For a long time, Orochimaru searched for a way to make himself immortal. Due to the many modifications made to his body, Orochimaru became a giant white snake made up of many smaller snakes with instant regenerative abilities and toxic blood that dissolved and, when released into the air, paralyzed anyone who inhaled it. 😵 This form became perfect when Orochimaru designed the Transfer Ritual, consuming a pre-chosen host and taking it to a subspace to transfer its soul into the new body.
As this is his true body and is stronger than his host's body, Orochimaru is able to enter snake hermit mode in this form, which changes his appearance, his skin becoming pinker, his hair becomes brown and his eyes take on their appearance linked to hermit mode. Orochimaru can only use this jutsu every 3 years to change hosts . When this period is reached, its host begins to reject it and it is time for it to find a new body which will serve as a receptacle. ⚱
Once in a new body, changing its function like its previous host, Orochimaru uses the Vanishing Face Copy Jutsu to wear the face of his original body as a mask. Orochimaru also uses this Jutsu to assume that he is taking other people's identities, killing them. A side effect of the Transference Ritual is that the souls of the bodies Orochimaru has taken have become part of his overall subconscious, causing some of their traits to slightly affect the choices he makes.
Edo Tensei
Orochimaru also mastered the Forbidden Summon: Edo Tensei which was developed by the second hokage Tobirama Senju. For this process, Orochimaru only needs a genetic sample of the ninja he wishes to bring back to life and the body of a living ninja to sacrifice as the reanimated ninja's vessel. From there, Orochimaru can bend the reanimated, nearly indestructible ninja to his will. In the first part, Orochimaru displayed the ability to summon Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju (although both were weakened so he could control them), Osoi and Yota.
In the second part, he is able to summon Hiruzen Sarutobi and Minato Namikaze after undoing the Reaper Seal on them. He can also reincarnate the Third Kazekage to fight for him if he wishes. After using his Transfer Ritual on a white Zetsu, thus obtaining Hashirama's DNA, Orochimaru's influence over the reanimated ninjas intensified (although Hashirama himself was immune to his control), which allowed Orochimaru to revive and control anyone who was near peak power (other than Hashirama, and probably Madara). In the story of the video game Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2, Orochimaru also reincarnates Zabuza and Haku.
Orochimaru is one of the few to master the 5 nature transformations. His talent in Wind Release can create a powerful gust of wind and he is powerful enough with Fire Release to burn Naruto while it was augmented by Kyubi . 🦊 With the liberation of Earth, he is able to create a slime clone that can fight for him.
Orochimaru is also proficient in Genjutsu, able to bind the likes of Sasuke and Sakura with ease despite their own resistance.
Senjutsu
Orochimaru learned the art of snakes from the teachings of the Great Serpent Sage of Ryuuchi Cave, but was unable to use it. However, by combining the Hermit Mode Chakra with the enzyme provided by Jugo, he was able to create the Cursed Seals and the increased power they grant. After placing his curse marks on Anko, Sasuke, Kimimaro , Sakon and Ukon, Tayuya, Jirobo, Kidomaru, Orochimaru essentially gave them each a piece of his consciousness that would be used to recreate his physical form if destroyed or eliminated . Despite the limitations, he possesses enough knowledge to both unleash another person's Sage Mode and absorb senjutsu chakra within them, as seen with Kabuto. 🧑🏻
Orochimaru's past
Orochimaru was originally an orphan who became a student of Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, alongside Jiraiya and Tsunade. 🐸 Compared to the more laid-back Jiraiya, Orochimaru stands out as a once-in-a-generation prodigy. However, Orochimaru has a twisted and sadistic personality which could be due to the death of his parents. At one point after losing them, Orochimaru found a white snake near his parents' grave and Hiruzen explained how it represented fortune and rebirth, prompting Orochimaru to gain knowledge of all forms of ninjutsu . This desire was initially stifled by his loyalty to Konoha and its nobility and he devoted himself entirely to Konoha. Although he started out doing research, he was known for doing experiments for the good of Konoha and his village benefited from them.
During the Second Ninja World War, Orochimaru joined Jiraiya and Tsunade to fight Hanzo , who gave them the title of Legendary Sannin of Konoha for surviving their fight against him while the rest of their group was easily massacred by the man with the salamander. On his way back to Konoha with his team, Orochimaru met Nagato and his friends who were orphans in the Land of Rain. 💧 While Orochimaru suggested killing the orphans out of mercy, Jiraiya stayed to train the children. It was also during this war that Orochimaru succumbed to the darkness while watching Tsunade's precious ones die, as Orochimaru had some affection for her.
First there was the death of Nawaki. Having had high expectations of the boy, a distraught Orochimaru retrieved his necklace and gave it to Tsunade. He also criticized her for not having been there to treat him. 🩹 The last straw was the death of Dan, Tsunade's lover. As Orochimaru searched for Tsunade's squad, he found Dan dead and the broken Tsunade crying devastatingly, causing him to feel emotional turmoil and pain again. This was the straw that broke the camel's back and Orochimaru continually fell into darkness.
Orochimaru and the ANBU
Sometime after Team Hiruzen disbanded, Orochimaru became a member of ANBU and joined Racine to work directly under Danzō Shimura while becoming Anko Mitarashi's mentor. It was around this time that Orochimaru met Kabuto Yakushi while accompanying Danzō in forcing the boy's guardian Nonō to go on a mission. 🐱👤
Although Orochimaru had ambitions to become the Fourth Hokage, he intended to use the title for his own agenda. Although Hiruzen knew the potential evil his former student had within him, he hoped to push Orochimaru out of the way before slowly realizing that Orochimaru is beyond help.
Sent on a mission by Danzo to ensure both Kabuto and Nonō, the former joining Racine as a spy, kill each other as they have become major risks. Orochimaru instead led Kabuto to one of his many hideouts, which would become part of his personal hidden village, Otogakure .
Although Orochimaru reveals Racine's intention to kill him, he explains to a horrified Kabuto that he sees a bit of himself in the boy and that killing him is a waste of great talent. Orochimaru therefore offers Kabuto a position as right-hand man and spy with the promise of an identity that Kabuto will call his own.
When Hiruzen finally retired and named Minato Namikaze his successor, Orochimaru no longer saw any reason to remain in Konoha and began to be less discreet in his actions. This led him to experiment on Hashirama Senju's DNA with sixty children he had kidnapped to recreate the First Hokage's mokuton.🌳 However, as his test subjects begin to die, Orochimaru is found in the act by Hiruzen who knows it is his duty to kill him but does not have the will. Leaving Konoha and his emotionally broken mentor, and despite Jiraiya's pleas for him to reconsider, Orochimaru left, unaware that Yamato had survived his experience.
Orochimaru in Akatsuki
Orochimaru quickly joined the elite criminal organization Akatsuki, his role is unclear but he joined forces with Sasori with whom he did a lot of good for the Akatsuki. However, when Itachi Uchiha joined Akatsuki after leading the massacre of the Uchiha clan , Orochimaru saw the opportunity to steal his body to gain possession of the Sharingan. Itachi used his Sharingan to knock him down while cutting off Orchimaru's left hand to prevent him from breaking the genjutsu, causing him to leave Akatsuki to gain a new body.
Since then, with Kabuto posing as a sleeper agent that an enraged Sasori had sent to monitor him, Orochimaru has become an independent and criminal ninja who uses the Hidden Village of Sound to continue his experiments in order to achieve true immortality. 🔉
Konoha Invasion Arc
Finally, when the opportunity to attack Konoha presented itself, Orochimaru joined forces with the fourth kazekage of Suna, who wanted the destruction of Konoha, planned their invasion during the Chunin Exams. Orochimaru also takes advantage of the invasion to test Sasuke Uchiha, Itachi's younger brother, to gauge whether he can be used as a vessel.
During the second part of the Chūnin Exams, Orochimaru assassinated a team of genin from Kusa Village to impersonate its leader Shiore and infiltrate the Forest of Death.🌳 During a fierce altercation with Team 7, Orochimaru showed his pride in Sasuke's abilities after he managed to partially burn his disguise. Orochimaru sealed Naruto's nine tails chakra before marking Sasuke, his target, with a cursed mark.
While sending Team Dosu towards certain death to test Sasuke, having Kabuto accompany Team 7 to see Sasuke use the power of the curse seal, Orochimaru is confronted by Anko who tells him that Konoha will continue the examinations under threat of reprisals.
The cursed mark of sasuke
During the preliminary rounds of the Chunin Exams, Orochimaru disguises himself as the leader of his genin team to witness Sasuke's performance against Yoroi Akadō and becomes more obsessive upon witnessing Sasuke remove the Cursed Seal with sheer willpower. After Kakashi was able to seal Sasuke's mark , Orochimaru confronted him and did not attempt to hide his desire to take Kakashi's Sharingan before leaving while adding that Sasuke will eventually come to him in search of power in order to accomplish his revenge .
Eventually, on the day of the final round matches, when all preparations for the attack were complete, Orochimaru assassinated the Fourth Kazekage and assumed his identity to sit next to Hiruzen to supervise the proceedings. When the invasion of Konoha began, Orochimaru made his move and attacked Hiruzen. Orochimaru has the Fourth Kazekage erect a barrier to restrain the other Konoha ninja to prevent any interference.
Orochimaru vs Hiruzen
Orochimaru, elated at finally being able to fight his former master Hiruzen, intends to redeem himself for letting Orochimaru go free. Orochimaru uses the Resuscitation Jutsu to bring back Hashirama Senju and his brother, Second Hokage Tobirama, to attack their successor. During the fight, his opponent having called Enma to his aid, Orochimaru reveals to Hiruzen the fruit of his work to achieve immortality by revealing the body of the host that he took after his brush with Itachi and his intention to making Sasuke his next host.
Horrified by Orochimaru's path and by his age and regenerative abilities of the first two Hokages which place him at a great disadvantage, Hiruzen decides to stop Orochimaru with the Reaper's Death Seal, sealing the souls of both Hokage before attacking Orochimaru himself. However, Orochimaru stabs Hiruzen from the back of the chest with his Kusanagi. Hiruzen weakened, Orochimaru is horrified when his mentor decides to seal only part of Orochimaru's soul in his arms so that Orochimaru can no longer perform jutsu. Cursed by Hiruzen who is dying for stealing his use of ninjutsu, Orochimaru is carried away by Oto's Quatret 🔊 and the invasion is stopped. Subsequently, Suna breaks ties with Orochimaru upon discovering the corpse of the Fourth Kazekage.
Orochimaru searching for Tsunade
After barely enduring the pain of his rotting arms, Orochimaru plans to seek treatment. call to Tsunade who offers to reincarnate his brother Nawaki and his lover Dan to obtain his cooperation. However, although she seemed to have agreed, Tsunade actually intended to kill him to ensure that he would never attack Konoha again. ❌
Kabuto intervened before she could, intending to force her to help before Jiraiya, Shizune, and Naruto soon came to her aid. After seeing Naruto defeat Kabuto, Orochimaru's attempt to kill the boy is stopped by Tsunade and Orochimaru calls Manda for Kabuto's help, hiding his condition from the giant snake who would have turned on Orochimaru for being injured. Jiraiya and Tsunade respond with their own summons and an epic battle ensues. The legendary trio accompanied by their summons are preparing to fight a battle that will remain engraved in the history of the shinobi world.
Forced to retreat, while hoping to pursue him when he was older, Orochimaru decided to take a new body and sent the Four Sound Ninja to retrieve Sasuke. Due to complications as the Hidden Leaf Village attempts to recover Sasuke, despite Kimimaro's aid to the Quatret d'oto, Orochimari is forced to take the body of an experimental prisoner named Gen'yūmaru . As he is stuck in Gen'yūmaru's body for the next three years, Orochimaru decides to begin training Sasuke upon his arrival, hoping to make him the ideal host, while being very impressed and excited by the chakra that Sasuke revealed after retaliating against Kabuto's warning for being rude. 😈
Orochimaru in Naruto Shipuden
Two and a half years later, Team Kakashi, led by Yamato, hoping to find Sasuke, learned from the dying Sasori that he must meet Kabuto. Posing as Sasori within his puppet Hiruko, the group's temporary leader, Yamato, meets with Kabuto while the others watch. However, Orochimaru understands the deception and destroys Hiruko in front of Kabuto and explains to him that Sasori never came. It is at this moment that the rest of Team Kakashi reveals himself to fight the two ninja. Although he was surprised to see that Yamato survived his experiments involving Hashirama's DNA, Orochimaru was more interested to see if Naruto became as strong as "his Sasuke". 💪 Naruto, unable to contain his rage, transforms into a tailed demon. Orochimaru easily manages to hold Naruto in the fight, provoking him even more.
It was only after Naruto submitted to Kurama's influence and entered his spiritless four-tailed form that Orochimaru took the fight more seriously, as Naruto is now capable of killing him and his host body begins to reject him after he uses Kusanagi to successfully defend himself against Naruto. While recovering briefly, Orochimaru was approached by Sai, who proposed, on Danzo's behalf, that they work together towards the destruction of Konoha.⛩ Intrigued, Orochimaru and Kabuto took him back to their base. Later, after the rest of Team Kakashi arrived at the den and Sai teamed up with them, Orochimaru confronted Sai and Naruto to question Sai about his loyalties. He fled before being drawn into another fight, and later stopped Sasuke from killing the team, noting that they could kill another Akatsuki member like they had done with Sasori.
How did Orochimaru die?
Later, on the verge of being rejected by his current body, Orochimaru thought about the best way to take Sasuke's body . However, he hadn't really expected to be the victim of an attack from Sasuke, who no longer needs him. Although Sasuke used his cursed mark to gain the upper hand in his white snake form, Orochimaru placed Sasuke in a genjutsu to perform the ritual. However, Sasuke uses Orochimaru's jutsu against him and ironically modified it so that Orochimaru becomes a prisoner in Sasuke's body before cutting him up using his sword. As a result, Sasuke gained access to some of Orochimaru's abilities. However, he also had to devote some of his chakra to suppressing Orochimaru.
Itachi's Pursuit Arc
During his battle with Itachi, Sasuke ran out of chakra, and Orochimaru was able to emerge thanks to his Jutsu Eight-headed snake . Appearing through the mouth of one of the snakes, Orochimaru fails to take Sasuke's body as Itachi uses the Totsuka Blade from his Susanoo and encases Orochimaru in the Totsuka Sword, which frees Sasuke from the curse. However, many of the snakes that made up Orochimaru's body endured the experiments of Kabuto who harvested and assimilated them into his body as part of his intention to transcend his former master. After Kabuto's defeat during the Fourth Shinobi World War, and his reunion with Suigetsu Hōzuki and Jūgo, Sasuke learns of the scroll 📜 that they found in one of Orochimaru's hideouts and decides to revive him to get answers following what he learned about his brother Itachi.
Orochimaru and the four Kages
Having learned that cursed marks contain parts of their creator's spirit, Sasuke successfully revives Orochimaru using Anko's cursed mark and a fragment of Kabuto's DNA. Despite Suigetsu's fears about his next action as he regains the rest of his chakra that Kabuto took from him, Orochimaru explains that he is neither interested in the Fourth Ninja War nor strong enough to even attempt to take the Sasuke's body if he wanted. But Orochimaru agrees to bring Sasuke to those who know everything: the first four Hokage. For this, Orochimaru is forced to mortally injure himself to break the Reaper's Death Seal, thus freeing not only the souls of the Hokages but also restoring himself spiritually to use the Resuscitation Jutsu on four of the Zetsu spore clones while using the Transfer Ritual on another.
Having them under his control, stating that he is not acting on his own, Orochimaru tells the Hokage that he plans to have them destroy Konoha if Sasuke deems it necessary after getting Hashirama's answer. During Sasuke's interview with the first four Hokage, he mocks his former sensei for not stopping him before, and moves the conversation forward by blaming the Uchiha massacre on Tobirama Senju's policies. . However, when Sasuke decided to support Konoha against Madara, he followed for his own pleasure to see how Sasuke turned out, while still having the option to continue his own experiments.💉
To this end, he had Suigetsu and Karin save the hokage after their fight against Madara, even going so far as to insult Tsunade when she asked him why he was doing this by claiming that "if time passes, Jiraiya might just have turned black. ⚫ Later, when he arrived on the battlefield, he joined the battle against the Shinju himself, and eventually against Zetsu. However, despite his intentions, Madara managed to cast infinite Tsukuyomi and trap Orochimaru in the fantasy he was trying to avoid. Eventually, he and the rest of the world were freed from genjutsu by Naruto and Sasuke after the war ended.
With the Fourth Shinobi World War over, Orochimaru resumes his genetic experiments with Taka as his laboratory assistant, although Konoha distrusts him and keeps him under constant surveillance

In the years that followed, between forming a truce with Konoha and changing his new way of thinking, Orochimaru finally re-established Oto as a legitimate shinobi village. In Boruto, he is one of the people who congratulates Naruto and Hinata on their wedding. Years later, he seems to be on good terms with Konoha and even sends his son Mitsuki to the village. In the anime, he also feels indebted to Naruto who watches over his son and the village as Hokage.🐱👤
Fifteen years after the Fourth Shinobi World War, Orochimaru agreed to speak with Sasuke and Naruto about Shin Uchiha. Naruto commented on Orochimaru's eternal youth, to which he replied "don't dwell on the details". After an interview, he explained that Shin was in fact one of his experiments in cloning technology and that he would be happy to have him taken away. He then gave his views on the ethics of cloning. With his story finished, Orochimaru decided to tell everything he knew about Shin's whereabouts, in hopes that the real Uchiha would kill Shin.
Later, Orochimaru brought up the possibility that Sakura was already dead. Sasuke, however, disagreed, saying that she is strong enough to protect herself.
Mitsuki, Orochimaru's son
Mitsuki is a synthetic human created by Orochimaru, being grown from the same embryo as at least one other older clone. Against all odds, Orchimaru is a good parent in his own way. He seeks for Mitsuki to find his own way and be independent. He wrote a scenario in which Mitsuki can escape only by finding the solution himself. With each failure, Orochimaru erases his son's memory. It was during the sixth grade as Mitsuki's "parent", wanted Mitsuki to find her independence, having concocted an elaborate plot for Mitsuki to do so. On the sixth attempt of this plan, Mitsuki unlocks the snake hermit mode and rebels. 🐍 He decided to follow Boruto and forge his own life.
Orochimaru's experience also led him to wish that Mitsuki would make his own decisions , admitting that he had high hopes for the boy's natural growth, although he sometimes resorted to manipulation and deception to put him in a situation where important decisions must be made.
