Orochi is one of the most badass villains in One Punch Man. Also known as King of Monsters , he is one of the main antagonists of the One Punch Man Saga👊, he is the leader of the monster association. Due to the nature of Saitama's power, and his habit of taking down huge monsters with a single punch, it takes an impressive beast to pose a real threat when Saitama is around.
Orochi is one of these beasts, with a wide range of powerful superpowers. He wasn't born a monster, he was a talented human scientist.👨🔬 It's his lingering character traits from his days as a human scientist of the sort, combined with his monstrous abilities, that make him a truly wonderful character .
Orochi's past
Once upon a time there was a simple man, although he was quite impressive. He was a genius in science🔬 and combat💪, but he was also a very bitter and antisocial man. Not much is known about his past, but even before his transformation, he already felt alienated by society , which is a common starting point for many screen villains. The more a person is actively or passively alienated by society, the more they dissociate, and they begin to build a generalized hatred for human beings. They become hungry for attention, respect and recognition, and any form of empathy goes out the window...
His transformation into a monster
Everything changed when Orochi was captured by Gyoro Gyoro. 👁 The King of Monsters' direct report which was nothing more than an independent "puppet" of powerful espers. Psykos, an esper friend of Fubuki, used ethically reprobated methods to change a human into a monster.
These methods included: cell transfusions , monster cannibalism (the common process of ingesting monster cells by humans that slowly transforms a human into a monster👺), and intense psychological torture. Gyoro Gyoro's work was so successful that Orochi became powerful enough to eventually surpassing Psykos herself . Orochi then perfected the process that created it.
The origin of the name Orochi
In Japanese mythology, the Orochi is a serpent-dragon🐉 8 heads and 8 tails , and its titanic body is said to cover 8 valleys and 8 hills.Susano , a man created by the 7th generation of celestial gods, was visited by the Orochi once a year during his exile from the heavens, and was forced to sacrifice one of his daughters to the beast only to be devoured each time. The secret to defeating this monster? Susano made each of his eight heads drink sake🍾. Orochi is a big fan of this alcohol apparently. Then he killed him with ease since he was drunk. Yes, the ending is less glorious than we imagine.
Other names
Orochi is often known as the King of the Monsters , mainly because he proclaimed himself as such. As the leader of the Monster Association, this is a fair statement. He also earned the name Lord Orochi with the respect and reverence he found through his authority and charisma within the monster community. 👹
Another title, less impressive, is that of "King of Worms", probably because of the numerous snakes that form its body. And Orochi is, of course, a pseudonym. His real name, like his true origin, is unknown.
Orochi: A Monster's New Life
His transformation into a horrible monster did nothing to change his already dark and damaged personality. Orochi in all his forms was perpetually serious and had a very menacing aura. He had no tolerance for failure or disobedience and frequently punished those who disappointed him.👿 Although he loved the thrill of combat, he took no pleasure in punishing, quickly dispatching his underlings rather than taking his time to torture them. He quickly proved himself to be a ruthless adversary, but it was all a calculated facade of a pragmatic, calculating man and a great intelligence .
Orochi's appearance
After its transformation, Orochi's humanoid face remained but the rest of his body had been distorted into a giant monstrous form. He has multiple horns on the top of his head and an insane amount of sharp teeth in multiple rows.
In this form, he normally wears a large cloak to conceal his appearance, but underneath his body, he appears to be enveloped in snakes🐍, and upon closer inspection, these intertwined snakes seem to form his entire body, which helps him to change shape efficiently and easily during battle. His shoulders, fingers and knees look like they are seeing terrifying faces. In battle, he often transforms into a vague-looking phoenix.
The powers of the King of Monsters
Orochi is not quite classified as a divine villain tier one, but he is considered to be above dragon status🐉,the scourge level just above God, making him doubt the strongest monster in the Monster Association. The powers he has demonstrated so far include superhuman strength and speed, shape shifting, pyrokinesis (i.e. breathing fire from any mouth), electrokinesis (he can shoot lightning from any limb), the ability to extend and contort his limbs and horns, monster cell reproduction, and regeneration. He also remains a formidable connoisseur of martial arts. He is a truly formidable opponent.
Orochi: the leader of the monster association
Orochi gained recognition among monsters soon after he became one, and he gained enough followers to become the head of the Monster Association and unite greedy and deceitful beings in order to destroy the Association of Heroes. Psykos, the famous esper ultimately responsible for Orochi's transformation, has risen to the simple role of military advisor. Orochi was a good candidate for this position, with a solid knowledge of war and a gift for manipulating people, he is the ideal person. He often keeps his master cards 🃏 close to him and guarding his followers when needed in order to use them wisely.
His leisures
Orochi is usually found creating monstrous cells that humans can consume, it is a passion of his. To help this cause, he frequently commits acts of terrorism . In addition to being guilty of these crimes, he has tortured and manipulated many others into murder through cannibalism and the transformation of unwilling humans into monsters, having perfected the process by which he himself was unintentionally transformed into a monster. He is known to be perpetually serious since his transformation, and his passion for power doesn't leave much room for relaxation and rest, but he does enjoy fighting a lot. 👹
Orochi's Dream: A World of Monsters
Orochi's true dream and goal, which he shares with the Monster Association, is to create a world filled with their fellow monsters.👾 The Hero Association is only an obstacle on the path to this ambitious goal . It would be achieved using the same disturbing methods that transformed Orochi and many others. To do this, you have to change all the humans into monsters or kill the entire association of heroes.
This may seem like the destiny of the once-introverted scientific warrior genius 👨🔬 who sought to take on the world. It would be an act of revenge against all the unbearably ordinary people who haunt him, making them feel like him, and becoming like him, little by little.
