Recognized throughout the world for his ability to use the Sharingan, 🗡️ hence his nickname "Copier Ninja", Kakashi Hatake is one of the best jônin in Konoha (which literally means Village Hidden by Tree Leaves ) . He is the only son of the famous White Fang of Konoha, Sakumo Hatake, and of a mother who died when he was still a child. Subsequently becoming leader of Team 7 (or Team Kakashi), he was the initial mentor of the main characters of the series, namely Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno.
As his meteoric progress from a young age proves, Kakashi is a natural genius. In fact, he graduated from the Ninja Academy 🐱👤 at the age of 5 and became a chûnin at 6 years old. He then obtained the rank of jônin at the age of 13 and then had a long career within the Anbu. After the Fourth Great Shinobi War , he was named the Sixth Hokage ("Sixth Fire Shadow").
The invasion of Konoha
The invasion of Konoha takes place in the Pain Invasion Arc which is part of Part II of the series. This Arc includes chapters 403 to 449 of the manga and extends from episode 152 to 175 of the Naruto Shippûden anime . Nagato's attack begins at the end of chapter 418 of the manga and in episode 157 of the anime where we see the Pain Rikudô (the six bodies of Pain) as well as Konan land on the outskirts of the village of Konoha. 🏘️
This attack is orchestrated by Nagato, leader of the Shinobu criminal organization known as Akatsuki. Its goal is to capture Naruto Uzumaki, the Jinchûriki who possessed within him Kyûbi, the most powerful of the nine bijû . You should know that Akatsuki has always had the objective of dominating the world in order to make it better and establish lasting peace, but in their own way. To achieve this, its members constantly try to capture the nine bijû, 🦊 which would allow them to resurrect Jûbi.
To carry out their attack on Konoha, the attackers are divided into two teams. The first group composed of Tendô , Ningendô , Jigokudô and Konan is responsible for tracking down Naruto. As for the second group including Suradô, Chikushôdô and Gakidô, its role is to create a diversion. After killing a few guards, they use a trick to get past the Sensory Barrier 🚧 that surrounds the village. Chikushôdô is thrown inside the barrier in order to make the Konoha Barrier Guard believe that there is only one intruder. Once inside, Chikushôdô only had to summon the others to join him. Immediately afterwards, everyone disperses to complete their task.
While Suradô, Chikushôdô and Gakidô destroy everything in their path creating a diversion, the four others seek to know where Naruto is by torturing and killing ⚰️ the ninjas they find. Then, Tendô comes across the chûnin Iruka Umino and threatens him so that he speaks. Having only received a refusal from the latter, he launches an attack to kill him, but it is at this moment that Kakashi appears out of nowhere and saves Iruka by blocking the attack. While Iruka escapes, Kakashi confronts Tendô, the leader of the six corps of Pain.
Kakashi's death
At the start of the fight, Kakashi breaks Pain Tendô's spear and avoids the latter's attack by ducking. He then erects a wall behind his opponent to pin him down and inflict a Lightning Blade. ⚡ At the same time, Tendô thrusts his blade into his shoulder and avoids his attack which ended in the wall. As the latter prepares to send a second salvo of his Thousand Birds , he is thrown very far away by Tendô's telekinetic power which allows him to either attract or repel everything around him, including his adversaries. . For the third time, Kakashi then tried to hit him with his Slayer Lightning but this attack was simply repelled by Tendô.
At that moment, Shuradô comes to join the fight and throws several explosive missiles at Takashi 🚀 which he manages to easily avoid. Sneaking behind Shuradô, he tries to hit him, but the latter also escapes thanks to the vision shared between Pain's bodies. While Shuradô reveals his body composed of 6 arms and a spear, Tendô attracts Kakashi towards them so that he can be pierced. Despite Kakashi's efforts to escape with a chain tied around a rock, he cannot free himself from this powerful attraction and is pierced through by the spear. Fortunately, this was a trick on the part of Kakashi who used a Lightning Clone to paralyze Shuradô and allow Chôza and Chôji to crush him with their fists tenfold in size.
When Tendô decides to attack again, the team accompanying Chôza responds by throwing Shuriken and Kunai at him. ⚔️ But Tendô easily manages to avoid and push them away. Having understood that the technique used by Tendô requires a "recharge" time of five seconds, Kakashi puts in place a plan to try to overcome it. He decides to launch a surprise attack by emerging from the ground just below Tendô with a Kunai but the latter detects him and ejects him again with his Celestial Repulsion technique. But it is a diversion allowing Kakashi's two allies to attack on their side in the form of human cannonballs. And even if this offensive was also repelled, the diversion works since they managed to chain ⛓️ Tendô to offer Kakashi the opportunity to put an end to his Thousand Birds technique.
But once again, Tendô manages to escape thanks to Shuradô who got in the way to protect him and takes the attack head on. Tendô then uses a powerful Celestial Repulsion to counterattack and seriously injures Chôza who stood in front of Chôji to protect him. The entire area around has been devastated and Kakashi is also injured 🩸 while stuck in the rubble. Wanting to eliminate the latter once and for all, Tendô throws a nail in the eye from afar. Kakashi pretends to have been hit, but in real life, he used his Sharingan to send the nail to another dimension. As for Tendô, believing he has finished with Kakashi, he flies off to continue his quest. For his part, Kakashi then commissions Chôji to warn Hokage Tsunade of Pain's abilities but this is without taking into account Shuradô who is still not dead. This launches a missile behind Chôji who ran as best he could to escape. Kakashi decides to sacrifice himself using the last remaining chakras to once again use his Mangekyô Sharingan and send the missile to another dimension. Once this is done, the Copier Ninja gives up the ghost. 💀
Nagato's transformation
After Kakashi's sacrifice, fighting resumes in the village and Pain continues to sow terror in Konoah Village. Having finally learned that Naruto is not in Konoha but at Mount Myôboku, he decides to destroy the village using extremely high power from his Shinra Tensei . It is just at this moment that Naruto in Hermit mode arrives in Konoha accompanied by the toads of Mount Myôboku 🌋 (Fukasaku, Gamakichi, Gamabunta, Gamaken and Gamahiro), having been warned of the attack on Konoha. Filled with anger upon seeing the village completely devastated, Naruto sets out to confront the 6 bodies of Pain one by one.
With a Rasengan, Naruto begins by exploding Shuradô who was trying to eliminate Master Tsunade completely drained of his chakra. While Chikushodô attacks him with his summons, Naturo easily gets rid of him thanks to the help of Gamabunta, Gamahiro and Gamaken. He then uses the toad katas 🐸 to beat Gakidô in melee before throwing a Futon - Rasenshuriken on the remaining Bread. Thanks to this attack, Ningendô is torn into pieces and thanks to Gamabunta who swallows Chikushodô, Naruto manages to undo it using a Rasenrengan. If the following attack was able to be absorbed by Gakidô while he was repaired by Jigokudô, the latter was not able to avoid Naruto's disguised attack. About to eliminate Gakidô in turn, Naruto is violently pushed back by Tendô who has regained his powers.
In addition, this is when Naruto has his chakra absorbed by Gakidô with the help of Tendô. He then leaves Hermit mode but, through his natural energy, he manages to transform Gakidô into a toad and then into a stone statue. After immobilizing Naruto on the ground with his black sticks, Tendô confronts Hinata and seriously injures her. 🤕 Naruto then falls into a black rage and his body is enveloped in the cloak of the six-tailed Kyûbi . Tendô moves away and uses his Chibaku Tensei to lock Naruto in a star, but the latter manages to free himself thanks to the eighth tail of the Nine-Tails. While the Fourth Hokage's security mechanism made it possible to make the Nine-Tails disappear, it was ultimately in Hermit mode and with a Rasengan that Naruto ended up defeating Tendô.
Before his final attack, Naruto uses Tendô's blade to injure himself and thus locate the real Pain, Nagato. After his victory, Naruto sets out to meet the latter and confront him. And even if Nagato still tried to kill him during their meeting and even if he had a crazy desire to kill him, Naruto finally understood that this was not what Jiraiya had taught him to bring peace. Nagato then tells him why he did this and asks him the question of how he thinks he can bring this peace to the ninja world without making them experience pain. 😰 Naruto then quotes him the Chronicles of an Intrepid Ninja , which is the first book written by Jiraiya and which relates to the story of a hero called Naruto. Upon hearing about this book, Nagato was shocked and convinced that Naruto was right. He then changes his mind and performs a final act of sacrifice, this time for the common good.
Kakashi's Resurrection
Now convinced that he had to believe in Naruto's response to bring peace to the world, Nagato decides to make amends by calling on a seventh bread: Gedô . According to Konan, granted by the Rinnegan , this power allows its user to control life and death. Thus, thanks to this power, Nagato has the possibility of summoning the King of Hell to release the souls 👻 of those who died through his wide open mouth. He can thus revive the dead by bringing their souls back into their bodies. Gedô also gives its user the possibility of transmitting chakra to receptors. ⚱️
And that's exactly what Nagato did for the village of Konoha. He used this seventh power to restore the lives of all the inhabitants and to share his chakra with them. Unfortunately, this reincarnation ninjutsu, called the Eternal Cycle of Reincarnations , requires a price to pay for those who use it: their sacrifice. Indeed, its user does not have the possibility of using this Rinne Tensei for himself even if he has the Rinnegan because he must be alive to summon the Statue of the Great Demon Heresiarch 🗿 and restore the body of 'a reincarnated person. This is how Nagato loses his life while Kakashi regains his.
Kakashi's only death in Naruto Shippuden
Throughout his “career” as a ninja since he was little, Kakashi has experienced a large number of challenges that he has always managed to overcome. Already at the age of 13, he lost his left eye 😜 during a tough confrontation to save his teammates Rin and Obito . On this same occasion, Kakashi still lost Obito who was crushed by a stone falling on the left side of his body due to a landslide caused by an enemy's Doton attack. Shortly after, he lost consciousness during another confrontation and was only saved at the last minute by Minato. Kakashi was also unable to protect Rin despite his promise to Obito. Rin in fact committed suicide by putting herself in the path of a Thousand Birds attack 🦜 from the man she loved. Kakashi blames himself greatly for the deaths of his previous group, which is why he spends a lot of time visiting his friends' graves.
Despite all these difficulties, Kakashi has earned a reputation for his skill in using his sharingan. He learned to copy and use a thousand techniques with perfection, hence his nickname Copier Ninja . He even received several praises in this regard. His skill and talents as a sharingan user allowed him to win several fights, but also to die only once in Naruto Shippuden during this confrontation against Tendô.
Theory: Kakashi's death in Boruto
We find Kakashi Hatake in the spin-off manga 📘 Boruto: Naruto Next Generations . In this new narrative which takes place after the Fourth Shinobi World War , Kakashi is announced by the designer Mikio Ikemoto as a character who will have a very big role to play in the rest of the manga, and more precisely in an arc where he will be highlighted. value, but without giving further details. This mysterious information gave rise to a large number of theories concerning Kakashi's return to the forefront and the importance he will have in the future scenario. 📑 Many put forward the idea that this important role he will have to play relates to his infiltration skills and the mysterious Kara organization .

Indeed, Kakashi is no longer as powerful as before and he no longer has his sharingan. 🪓 And especially since several characters from the old generation are still there and could overshadow the new generation. Also, given the high probability that he will be sent on an infiltration mission into the enemy camp, many assume that the Rokudaime Hokage could lose their life.
