The different clans of Konoha

In the Naruto universe, each ninja village is made up of several families or groups of Shinobis which constitute the basic units and which are called Clans. In the past, thanks to agreements concluded with the daymyô (leader of the country in question) of the lands where they lived, these different clans agreed to settle there and create a ninja village. The first to take the plunge were the Senju and Uchiha clans, followed by other groups later.

The gradual formation of these villages eventually resulted in the creation of Five Great Ninja Countries, namely the Land of Wind, the Land of Earth, the Land of Lightning, the Land of Water, and the Land of Fire. In each of these countries there is a large hidden village headed by a Kage. In particular, we find in the Land of Fire the largest and most powerful hidden village 🏙️: Konoha or the Village Hidden by Tree Leaves .

Over time, the village of Konoha has seen countless clans, but to date, only 9 clans predominate there. You should know that each of these 9 clans has their own particularities which we will see in the rest of this article.

Hyuga Clan

This is one of the oldest clans but also the most powerful in Konoha village. Neji Hyûga even declared that his clan has the most powerful techniques in the world. Each member of this family comes into the world with the Byakugan, a hereditary aptitude or technique allowing them to have a 360° field of vision 👁️ and also to differentiate the circulatory system and the Tenketsu (cavities) of the chakra . This power also gives them the ability to see through things or even living beings over a distance of up to several kilometers.

One of the particularities of the Hyûga clan is that it is divided into two branches, namely the main family called Sôke and the secondary one called Bunke. This system was put in place in order to preserve the secrets of the Byakugan . The main branch is at the head of the clan while the parallel branch has the task of protecting the Sôke, even if it means sacrificing their lives. Furthermore, the members of the Bunke have no will of their own; their actions depend entirely on the decisions of the members of the Sôke. In order to distinguish them from members of the main family and establish the superiority of the latter, members of the Bunke must wear on their foreheads a cursed seal called "the bird 🐦 in a cage". Thanks to this seal, the Sôke has absolute control over each member of the Bunke. Simply activate it with a gesture to inflict excruciating pain, or even death.

The other interesting particularity of the Hyûga concerns their martial art based on one of the three styles of ninja fighting, namely Taijutsu (the other two being Ninjutsu and Genjutsu). Each member of the Hyûga clan is initiated into the Jûken, otherwise called Soft Fist . This unique Taijutsu technique involves causing internal damage to your opponent's vital organs by disrupting their chakra using your own chakra. Its use requires the Bakyugan, the latter allowing its user to have a perfect and clear vision of the chakra circulation system 🕉️ in the opponent's body. The latter then ends up paralyzed and finds himself with a reduced stock of chakra.

Characteristics of the Hyûga:

Member Characteristics: The pupils of each clan member are white in color. Those who are part of the secondary branch are all marked with a cursed seal on their foreheads.

Characteristics of Jutsu: The Jutsu of the Hyûga clan ninjas only integrate the abilities of the Jûken, which makes them extremely formidable in melee combat. 🤼

Uchiha Clan

Once considered to be the most powerful clan in Konoha, and even one of the most powerful in the world, theUchiha clan has long been the guardian of order 👮🏼‍♂️ within the village hidden by the Tree Leaves . The Uchiha consisted solely of very intelligent ninjas, having incredible natural genius and above all endowed with extremely powerful chakra. Added to all this is their astonishing ability to master and use Katon no Jutsu techniques, known as Fire Jutsu . Mainly offensive, these techniques allow them to create fire just by increasing the temperature of their chakra. When an Uchiha becomes an expert in Fire Jutsu, his combat ability increases tenfold.

However, being an expert in Fire Jutsu is not the achievement that made this clan famous. In fact, the legend of the Uchiha comes mainly from one of the three Greatest Dôjutsu that certain members of the clan inherit: the Sharingan . Also called Heavenly Pupil, 👁️‍🗨️ this Kekkei Genkai is very interesting because of the many abilities it provides to its user. Indeed, this Dôjutsu is able to evolve according to the actions of the person using it and, as a result, its number of commas can then increase.

Unfortunately, this clan experienced great tragedy to the point that it has now almost disappeared. It turns out that one of its members, Itachi Uchiha, undertook the massacre of practically his entire clan in order to avoid a coup d'état instigated by the latter in Konoha. The only survivors of this tragic event are four in number, namely Obito, Madara, Itachi himself and his little brother Sasuke Uchiha who was not only the classmate 👨🏼‍🎓 of Naruto Uzumaki, his teammate in the Team Kakashi but also and above all his rival. Itachi indeed spared his brother's life so that he could one day take revenge on the murderer of his clan and become a hero in the eyes of the people of Konoha. Since that day, the Uchiha clan has been labeled as the cursed clan and the Sharingan is now nicknamed the Eye of Hatred.

Particularities of the Uchiha:

Member Characteristics: In the past, the clan represented the village police. Members were proud of their clan and were loyal to it under all circumstances.

Characteristics of Jutsu: Uchiha Jutsu were essentially fire type.

Description of Jutsu: An Uchiha uses his Sharingan to imitate the Jutsu of his opponents. However, the power of his Sharingan depends on his level of mastery and therefore on the number of commas that his pupil displays.

The hidden strength of the clan: TheMangekiyô Sharingan , which is the last form of the Sharingan, hides several secrets. When its user achieves perfect mastery, he is then able to benefit from formidable Jutsu.

Senju Clan

Much like the Uchiha clan, the Senju clan was previously one of the most powerful clans in Konoha and even the ninja world. Its fame dates back to before the creation of the Five Great Villages at the time of incessant clashes between the clans. This clan gained the fear and respect of others thanks to their excellent mastery of the different ninja arts ( Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Taijutsu ). Along with the Uchiha clan, the Senju were also the initiators of the creation of the Hidden Leaf Village. 🍃

The Senju clan and the Uchiha clan share the same ancestor, in the person of Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki or Rikudō Sennin . The Uchiha are descended from Indra Ōtsutsuki, the latter's eldest son, while the Senju are descended from the second son, Asura Ōtsutsuki. The two clans later became rivals due to the fact that the father of the two brothers 👨‍👦‍👦 chose his younger son as his successor instead of his eldest. From this choice was born a hatred between the two clans.

This incessant confrontation only ended once the leaders of the two clans, Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha , finally met and a friendship was born between them. Indeed, both really wanted this war to end. Several years after their first meeting, once they had each become the leader of their clan, they opted for a truce. ☮️ This interruption of hostilities allowed them to create the Village of Konoha. It should be noted that the first two Hokage came from the Senju clan.

Sarutobi Clan

Each known member of the Sarutobi clan today has always been attached to the Will of Fire, this philosophy of life inherited from Asura Ôtsutsuki (Senju clan) advocating love ❤️ and considering each inhabitant of Konoha as part of his family. It also seems that the Sarutobi have the ability to master very powerful ninja techniques. This is particularly the case of Asuma Sarutobi, Hiruzen Sarutobi as well as Konohamaru Sarutobi. Inuzuka Clan

Unlike most other clans, the Inuzuka do not have a specific fighting style. Instead, they rely on their affinity with ninja dogs to fight. Indeed, upon reaching a certain age when he begins his life as a ninja, each member of this clan receives a canine partner, or even several. An Inuzuka's four-legged companion is not limited to a dog, it can also be a wolf. 🐺 Very quickly, thanks to the natural attachment of Inuzuka with canines, the two beings become attached to each other to the point of becoming inseparable. Yamanaka clan

A harmonious clan, the Yamanaka are made up of members who are all very elegant. Shimura Clan

Along with the Sarutobi, the Shimura clan was among the first to ally with the Senju and the Uchiha. From this clan comes one of the Heads of the High Council of Konoha, namely Danzô Shimura . He is the founder and leader of the Root, the unofficial branch of Anbu. Apart from what Danzo said about his father and grandfather losing their lives on the battlefield, we don't know much about this clan.
