Naruto is one of the most famous shonen due to its complex structure as well as for having redefined the Ninja archetype. In its fifteen years of existence, there is no doubt that the series has left its mark on Manga fans. 📚 Fans expected the series to end, but Masashi Kishimoto surprised us again with a new adaptation of Naruto.
For fans who dropped the series halfway, Boruto tells the story of Naruto's son and his friends from the new generation of Konoha. His fanbase is still active, and with the new Boruto anime series, the Naruto fandom has a lot going for it. 💳 The first chapter instantly hooked readers, who were looking to find out what had really happened in Konoha since the Second War. Boruto is a gateway for young fans who discovered the saga halfway.
However, not all fans know every detail of the Naruto series, and even longtime fans may have missed or misjudged a few details about the franchise. Given that Naruto has over 700 chapters, it's hard to believe that fans haven't missed some of the subtleties of the Manga or Anime. 📺
15. KONOHA DOES NOT KNOW THAT NARUTO IS THE SON OF THE 4TH HOKAGE
Readers and fans of the manga probably know that during chapter 367, Jiraiya 🐸 and Tsunade talked about Naruto's parents, while the manga never revealed Naruto's lineage to Konoha Village. The village of Konoha simply thought that the Fourth Hokage had sacrificed his life against Kurama , and sealed him inside Naruto, and therefore was unaware that Naruto was his son (however, it is unfortunately obvious) . After all, Kushina married the Fourth Hokage and they were expecting a baby.
However, when Kyubi escaped , Hiruzen went to great lengths to protect Naruto's identity from Minato's enemies. So only a few people knew the secret. Even Naruto didn't know his father's identity until Kurama was about to break the seal. It was at this moment that Minata revealed himself to his son and the world.
When Naruto became the Seventh Hokage, it was no longer a secret that he was Minato 's son. Find out who Naruto is .
14. NARUTO DIDN'T KILL ANYONE
Many fans believe that Naruto never killed anyone in the series. However, for a story focused on the Shinobi Wars, it is only natural that Naruto has already killed Ninjas. ⚰️ During the mission to rescue the Kazekage, Naruto met Yura who was already a pawn of the antagonist Pain. Naruto kills him with his Rasengan , and his corpse is later discovered.
Prior to the arc, Yura served as a trusted advisor to the Kazekage, and acknowledged Gaara's selection as the next Kage. However, it was later revealed that he was a spy 🕵️♂️ under the command of Sasori . Once Yura was awakened by the Akatsuki, he massacred the Suna Village guards to allow the Akatsuki through the gate. Yura is the only person Naruto has killed, which is a bit surprising when you think about other shinobis, like Kakashi.
13. THE POWER OF SHARINGAN IS UNBEATABLE
The Sharingan carries a deadly arsenal of ninjutsu. 📜 The Uchiha clan is known for using their dojutsu, the Sharingan, which many fear. Sharingan users like Sasuke can disrupt the senses and immerse their enemies in illusions.
It is also important to note that Sasuke is the reincarnation of Indra , which also gives him power. The Sharingan 👁️ can even influence Kurama, which is another reason why the other clans are afraid of the Uchiha. The Sharingan is supposed to be the ultimate hack and is considered impossible to fight, especially if its user is a genius.
However, experienced ninjas can easily counteract this power. Genjutsu can be disrupted by an opponent's chakra. For example, an opponent may inflict an injury on himself 🩸 in order to be brought back to reality. Opponents who expect to be trapped in a Genjutsu can also create barriers to prevent it.
12. THE END OF NARUTO
Naruto ended in 2014 and people expected the ten year series to end just like Bleach and Fairy Tail. After over 700 chapters and 72 volumes, readers expect Kishimoto to put an end to it. The author proved us wrong and created a second series called Boruto , which follows the main protagonist's son and his adventures.
Like all major franchises, there are fears that Boruto won't live up to its predecessor, both in storytelling and fandom, but the new series holds up. Boruto adds an extra twist to his universe, and the offspring are much better than their parents. 💪
Sarada , the daughter of Sakura and Sasuke, is part of Boruto's team and happens to be in love with Boruto. Their love story is more low-key than Team 7's love triangle and doesn't get in the way of the actual plot. In fact, Boruto and Sarada are mature enough to put aside their feelings during their missions.
The new generation does not have to live a hellish life unlike their parents because of the Hokage 's current efforts to create peace ✌️; however, because of this context, the story focuses on singular topics and larger threats that aim to threaten the peace.
11. PLOTS ARE RECYCLED
One of the most common misconceptions about Naruto is that the series' story arc suffered greatly for its recycled themes. ♻️ Each story is the same: the villain tries to annihilate the Shinobi world, we learn about the villain's past life, and Naruto tries to convince him not to take revenge. This also includes side characters introduced in the new lineage. It's easy to assume that Kishimoto repeated the same theme over and over again because he ran out of ideas, but it's quite the opposite.
The main theme of Naruto is the bonds of friendship 👭 and, although the series suffers from a repetitive tone, each of the stories is different, and none of the arcs are the same. For example, Zabuza was once a respected shinobi before becoming an independent assassin. Pain was an orphan who learned the six paths under Jiraiya and believed himself to become the next Sage of the Six Paths. After Yahiko's death, Pain decided to enforce world peace through violence.
Madara Uchiha agreed to peace with Harashima, but it was not enough to tolerate his brother's death during the war. Each antagonist had different motivations, and their conflict with the heroes complicates the situation.
10. KISHIMOTO CAN’T WRITE A ROMANCE
Kishimoto has openly admitted on several occasions to his difficulty in writing romantic scenes , and Naruto fans would attest that Kishimoto does not know how to write a love scene. However, the problem is not that he is incompetent at writing romances, but rather that he is too embarrassed to act them out. 📺💔
Kishimoto said that it is also difficult for him to draw them: "Although I wanted to write romances between the different characters in the Naruto saga, it seemed difficult. I am not good at writing romance novels. love because I feel embarrassed when I try to do it."
Tsunade and Dan 's story, for example, had some romantic moments, but the primary goal was to learn more about Tsunade and her hesitation to become the next Hokage. The same goes for Naruto's parents, arguably one of the best pairs in the fandom. Kishimoto could have avoided writing their love story. However, he still drew them. 🎨
9. BATTLES ARE THE SAME
Kishimoto has kept the series alive with new powers, 💥 and abilities such as dojutsus like the Rinnegan. The Chunin Tournament arc, for example, laid the groundwork for new characters, and Kishimoto adds skills to them during the Fourth Shinobi War. Rock Lee unlocks the gates of Taijutsu, Gaara's impenetrable sand armor can block blows that Sasuke's Susanoo is incapable of, and even Sakura has mastered the Supreme Creation Seal and Renewal.
We can nevertheless see a link between the fights of the new generation and those of the 1st generation. As an example, Harashima Senju and Uchiha Madara's battle resembles Sasuke's fight against Naruto in the last arc . ⚔️
Even Sasuke and Naruto 's fights are different by default. Compared to the post-chunin exam and the final fight, they know their combat techniques better and have learned new things during their encounters. Every battle brings something new.
8. PAIN IS THE LEADER OF AKATSUKI
Nagato aka Pain is first revealed as the leader of the Akatsuki clan, ☁️ but the real leader is Yakito. Pain is actually the second leader. Like Nagato, Yahiko was an orphan who looked after a group of orphans whose parents had died in the Second Shinobi War.
Yahiko accepted Nagato for who he was, and with Konan , they formed Akatsuki, a secret group driven to spread peace. Jiraiya taught the trio basic ninjutsu and they used their new abilities to create a world without war. Their exploits, however, attracted the attention of Hanzo, who believed their ideals posed a threat to his power. Along with Konoha's ANBU forces, Hanzo nearly wiped out Akatsuki, but Nagato and Konan survived.
Tobi later reveals in the anime that he staged this just so he could use Nagato's influence for his ultimate plan. Akatsuki had a number of leaders after Pain, and Tobi became the leader after Nagato's death. In Boruto, Shin Uchiha took on the lead role of Akatsuki. Discover the most powerful members of Akatsuki .
7. BORUTO IS LIKE NARUTO
The sequel establishes an interesting dynamic between the parents and the child, where the child gets a few things back from his parents. Apples never fall far from the tree. 🍏 However, in Boruto 's case, he has nothing to do with Naruto despite the fact that they both have a penchant for pranks.
On the one hand, Boruto would never say what he feels out loud, whereas Naruto expresses his feelings openly. While everyone expects Boruto to follow in his father's footsteps as the next Hokage, Boruto refuses this role and prefers to be a shinobi like Sasuke.
Kishimoto acknowledges their differences in the Shonen Jump Festival interview, saying that Boruto is more refined than his father: " Naruto moves without thinking... He's a scoundrel. Boruto is cunning. He's more mature in general than his father." This is what we see time and again. At first, Boruto doesn't like that Naruto is Hokage, a title that killed his grandfather and ruined their family. He goes out of his way to achieve quick victories, something Naruto never did as a child. Unlike his father's lonely childhood, Boruto has a family and is able to make friends with ease.
6. ROCK LEE CANNOT USE NINJUTSU
Rock Lee , a fan favorite of the series, is recognized for his Taijutsu, learned by Guy Sensei, who is a master. Because he is always adamant about using Ninjutsu, fans instantly believed that the reason he only uses Taijutsu is because he cannot use Ninjutsu.
We learn that he failed to master Ninjutsu and Genjutsu at a young age. His friends tease him for this, but Lee refuses to back down and instead turns to Taijutsu . 🥊 Although he devoted his time to mastering Taijutsu, he was never completely without chakra. He is capable of using ninjutsu , but in a different form. For example, Rock Lee can use his chakra to walk on water 🌊 and on different surfaces. In the anime, it is revealed that he can use his chakra, and even dispel Genjutsu.
5. BORUTO IS WRITTEN BY KISHIMOTO
Kishimoto is not the main creator of the Boruto series, but he still gives advice to the new mangaka . Writer Ukyō Kodachi and illustrator Mikio Ikemoto are responsible for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, who were respectively involved in the original manga. Ukyo Kodachi wrote Gaara Hiden, the Gaara light novel, and worked on Boruto: Naruto the Movie with Kishimoto. Mikio Ikemoto has been Kishimoto's assistant since the first chapters of the manga. 📚
After 15 years of hard work, Kishimoto deserves at least a sabbatical for creating one of the most popular manga of the 21st century. He finds it surreal that he is now the reader of his work and no longer the creator. Kishimoto passed the torch to his closest colleagues who he knew would be capable of accomplishing the task. 💯
4. RINNEGAN REQUIRES THE ASURA AND INDRA CHAKRAS
Technically, there are different ways to obtain the Rinnegan . 👁️ It can, for example, be stolen from a former user. we noticed this during the following passage: "when Madara implanted his eyes in Pain without Pain noticing." It is also possible to obtain the Rinnegan via its descendants. that is to say via the chakra of Asura and Indra.
Uchiha Madara, the reincarnated host of Indra, fused his DNA 🧬 with Harashima Senju, the descendant of Asura, to create a new pair of Rinnegan. With Kabuto's help, they were able to create a pair of Rinnegan, but they remained dormant. Before Madara 's death, he gave his eyes to Pain, a descendant of Harashima.
3. THE NINE-TAILED FOX IS THE STRONGEST
It is a long-held belief that the Nine-Tailed Beast is the strongest tailed demon, 🦊 as their stories detail their degree of strength. However, there is one demon that is more powerful than Kurama - and it happens to be the 10-tailed demon, Jūbi. The strength of each beast is measured by their tails, so Kyubi would possess half of Jūbi's strength.
The eight-tailed beast would therefore possess a quarter of Jûbi 's strength, and this trend continues downwards. Despite the fact that he has half the strength of Jûbi, he remains no less formidable.
Hagoromo Otsuki divided their chakras ➗ this way after defeating Jūbi and Kaguya. Otsuki intended to make them protectors in order to prevent another use of the Tsukuyomi Infinite spell. Because of their powers, humans began to seal them away and use the demons in war.
2. SAKURA IS USELESS
Sakura Haruno 🌺 has a bad reputation for several reasons. For example, she fell in love with Sasuke (who tried to kill her several times) and she often sat on the sidelines while other shinobi, who had less screen time, contributed to the story. . Although these flaws are obvious, she rejects his character, which ironically is anything but unnecessary.
When Sasuke left Team 7, Sakura realized that she was not a true shinobi like Naruto and Sasuke. After this realization, Sakura spent three years under Tsunade's tutelage studying medical ninjutsu to improve her ninja skills. She improves and eventually reaches Tsunade 's level after a few years of training, which is saying a lot considering her young age. Off-screen, she has healed countless shinobi in the war effort and thus become useful. 💊
1. NARUTO IS TOO POWERFUL
Another misconception is that Naruto is too powerful and can defeat enemies with a single blow. 👊 Many manga and anime series fall into the trap of giving their protagonist too much power, which makes them unstoppable. Naruto seems to suffer the same fate. While this is somewhat the case, most of the various arcs are about controlling one's power and never being tempted to break the seal of the Nine Tails. Breaking the fox's seal would give him immeasurable power, but he would not be able to control his own actions.
Naruto receives immense power, 💪 which is already within him. However, with each new arc, he mainly focuses on controlling his inner demon. His signature technique, the Rasengan , also requires enormous chakra control. Overall, Naruto's power is innate, and each chapter focuses on him discovering his own potential.
Have you had the opportunity to read the following article: 15 things you don't know about Akatsuki ?
